Overview

RNA-binding protein 34 (RBM34) is a human protein encoded by the RBM34 gene, located on chromosome 1. It is a member of the RNA-binding motif family and contains two RNA recognition motif subdomains (RNA recognition motif-1 and RNA recognition motif-2). The protein is primarily involved in nucleic acid and nucleotide binding, and alternative splicing of the RBM34 gene results in multiple transcript variants. There is no current evidence that RBM34 is a therapeutic target or widely implicated in any specific disease, though large-scale genetic screens do assess its gene essentiality in cancer cell lines[1][2][3][5][6].
