RNA-binding protein with multiple splicing 2 (RBPMS2) is an RNA recognition motif-containing protein that regulates the early development and plasticity of smooth muscle cells, especially within the gastrointestinal system. It is involved in the control of cell differentiation and proliferation, and has been observed to be up-regulated in gastrointestinal stromal tumors[1][3][4]. There is no evidence it functions as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[1][3][4].
