RNF130 antisense RNA 1 (RNF130-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcribed from the genomic region antisense to the RNF130 gene. Its function is largely uncharacterized, with current annotations suggesting possible roles in post-transcriptional regulation of RNF130 expression. It does not encode a protein and is not a member of canonical target families such as receptors, enzymes, or transporters. There is no evidence it is directly involved in disease mechanisms, nor that it interacts with drugs. RNF130-AS1 is distinct from the nearby protein-coding RNF130 gene, which encodes an E3 ubiquitin ligase implicated in cholesterol metabolism and immune processes[3][5].
