RNY1 pseudogene 4 (RNY1P4) is a non-coding RNA sequence classified as a pseudogene belonging to the Y RNA pseudogene family. Unlike the functional Y RNAs (RNY1, RNY3, RNY4, RNY5), RNY1P4 does not produce a functional RNA molecule and is not involved in DNA replication, cell cycle progression, or immune responses. Its biological significance is minimal, and there are no known disease associations, drug interactions, or biomarker roles. The confusion may arise from its similarity in name to the functional Y RNA genes, which play roles as Ro ribonucleoprotein components and are associated with autoimmune pathology and cancer biomarker studies[1][2][3][5][7].
