RNY1 pseudogene 7 (RNY1P7) is a human pseudogene belonging to the Y RNA family, which are small non-coding RNAs primarily associated with the Ro ribonucleoprotein complex[5]. Y RNAs, including their pseudogenes, generally function in the regulation of DNA replication, gene expression, and RNA stability, sometimes acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) to regulate microRNA availability and modulate mRNA degradation or translation[2][6]. RNY1P7 itself does not encode a functional protein and is classified as a pseudogene by the Human Gene Nomenclature Committee (HGNC)[5]. Although many Y RNA and related pseudogenes have implications in cancer, autoimmune disease, and immune regulation, there is no evidence that RNY1P7 is a direct therapeutic target or has validated biomarker or drug interactions. Its close relatives, functional Y RNAs, are known to interact with immune receptors including Toll-like receptors (TLRs), and altered Y RNA expression has been observed in several cancers and autoimmune diseases; however, these functions have not been specifically attributed to RNY1P7 itself[1][3][7].
