Overview

RNY3 pseudogene 11 is a processed non-coding RNA pseudogene on human chromosome 6 (chr6:109305494-109305595) with high sequence similarity to the functional RNY3 gene, which is part of the Y RNA family[5]. Like other Y RNA family pseudogenes, RNY3P11 arises from reverse transposition events and does not produce functional proteins[1][5][2]. Y RNA pseudogenes are widely distributed in the human genome, with over 1,000 copies described[2]. The functional Y RNAs (most notably RNY3) play roles in the assembly of ribonucleoprotein complexes (such as Ro60), the regulation of non-coding RNA quality, and, potentially, DNA replication and immune responses[1][2]. Although some Y RNA pseudogenes may be transcribed in certain contexts, there is no evidence for a direct biological function, disease role, drug interaction, or biomarker use for RNY3 pseudogene 11 itself[1][5]. The gene is not recognized as a druggable target or as part of any well-defined molecular family relevant to therapeutic intervention[5][3][1].
