RNY3 pseudogene 7 (RNY3P7) is a human pseudogene derived from RNY3, which encodes a Y-RNA involved in forming ribonucleoprotein complexes and regulating RNA maturation and DNA replication. Pseudogenes like RNY3P7 usually arise via genomic duplication or retrotransposition; they typically do not encode functional proteins or RNAs and are often considered non-functional genomic elements. No evidence suggests RNY3P7 has a direct role in human disease or as a drug target. Its parent gene, RNY3, has been studied in the context of cell proliferation, immune regulation, and cytokine production, but RNY3P7 itself has no recognized function or disease role. There are no drugs known to interact with RNY3P7, and it is not used as a biomarker or implicated in clinical safety concerns. Pseudogenes in general may sometimes regulate other genes through RNA-mediated interactions, but no such mechanism has been described for RNY3P7. The entry may be misleading if used in a therapeutic target context, as it is not a receptor, enzyme, or protein and does not possess known molecular activity.
