RNY3 pseudogene 9 (RNY3P9) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, related to the Ro-associated Y3 RNA family. Pseudogenes like RNY3P9 typically arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and do not produce functional proteins or RNAs. Unlike protein-coding genes or noncoding RNAs with regulatory roles, such as microRNAs or long noncoding RNAs, RNY3P9 is not currently known to have biological activity or disease association. Although Y RNAs, the parent RNA class, have known functions in DNA replication, current evidence suggests RNY3P9 does not perform such roles. As a pseudogene, it is not a therapeutic target and has no direct clinical relevance[1][5].
