Target intelligence / Profile preview
Roundabout homolog 4 (ROBO4) is an endothelial-specific receptor that plays a key role in vascular biology. It promotes new blood vessel formation, guides proper organization of blood vessels, and is essential for endothelial cell migration and proliferation. ROBO4 interacts with ligands such as SLIT2 and is involved in maintaining vascular integrity. Its expression can be altered in pathological conditions like inflammation or cancer. Overexpression has been associated with glioma progression.
Acts as a receptor for Slit proteins, mediating cellular responses through downstream effectors like Abelson kinase and Dock/Nck.
