RPL26L1 antisense RNA 1 (RPL26L1-AS1, also known as CTC-308K20.1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 5 (reverse strand: 172,954,666-172,960,081), which is classified as an antisense transcript to the RPL26L1 protein-coding gene[1][8]. Like other antisense lncRNAs, it is presumed to regulate gene expression, often of its neighboring or sense gene, through mechanisms such as chromatin remodeling, mRNA stability modulation, or transcriptional interference; however, there is currently no direct evidence describing specific molecular functions, disease involvement, or pharmacological modulators for RPL26L1-AS1 specifically[1][2][3][5][9]. Preliminary research mentions a potential immunomodulatory role in glioblastoma macrophages, but this is not yet well characterized or broadly substantiated[9]. No known drugs or approved biomarker roles have been established for this lncRNA.
