RPP38 divergent transcript (RPP38-DT, also known as C10orf111) is a human gene located at chromosome 10 (10p13), encoding a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). The gene is transcribed in an antisense orientation near the RPP38 coding gene (hence "divergent transcript") and is classified as a lncRNA due to low or absent protein coding potential. Like other divergent lncRNAs, RPP38-DT may participate in transcription regulation, chromatin remodeling, or modulation of RNA splicing, although its specific biological functions and clinical relevance remain uncharacterized. Some evidence suggests that RPP38-DT can be differentially expressed in response to DNA damage, such as ionizing radiation, and may be associated with cellular stress response and cancer biology, but its role as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug-interacting molecule is not established.
