Target intelligence / Profile preview
RPS3A pseudogene 27 is a processed pseudogene resembling the functional RPS3A gene, which encodes the 40S ribosomal protein S3a, a component of the small ribosomal subunit essential for protein synthesis. However, as a pseudogene, RPS3AP27 does not code for a functional protein and has no demonstrated biological or therapeutic role. The functional RPS3A gene is involved in ribosome assembly and cellular protein synthesis and has multiple pseudogenes scattered throughout the genome, which are typically non-functional remnants of evolutionary duplication events[1][2].
