Overview

RPS6KA2 antisense RNA 1 (RPS6KA2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) identified as antisense to the RPS6KA2 gene locus. Its precise function remains uncharacterized, but as with many antisense lncRNAs, it may have a regulatory role over its sense transcript or participate in epigenetic modulation. RPS6KA2-AS1 has been described as part of multi-lncRNA prognostic signatures in head and neck cancer and ovarian cancer in recent transcriptomic studies[2][4]. There is no current evidence that RPS6KA2-AS1 encodes a protein or acts as a direct therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor.
