Overview

RRBP1 pseudogene 2 (RRBP1P2) is a genomic locus derived from the ribosome binding protein 1 (RRBP1) gene. It does not encode a functional protein and is classified as a pseudogene. Unlike the protein-coding RRBP1, which is an endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein involved in ribosome association, secretory pathway regulation, and is implicated in cancer progression, RRBP1P2 has no recognized biological function, clinical utility, or therapeutic relevance[1][5]. In summary, RRBP1P2 is not a therapeutic or functional protein target, and queries about RRBP1P2 as a receptor or drug target are incorrect. Only its parent, RRBP1, is an established protein with cellular roles.
