RRM1 antisense RNA 1 (RRM1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand relative to the RRM1 gene locus. Antisense RNAs such as RRM1-AS1 can regulate gene expression through a range of mechanisms, including transcriptional interference or chromatin remodeling, potentially influencing their sense-gene partners or unrelated genomic loci. However, there is currently no published evidence directly detailing the specific biological function, disease roles, pharmacological targeting, or biomarker relevance of RRM1-AS1 itself. There is no evidence that RRM1-AS1 is currently considered a direct therapeutic target, or that it is the subject of drug development. It is recognized as a "non-coding RNA gene" in genomic databases.
