RTN4RL1 antisense RNA 2 (RTN4RL1-AS2) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcribed from the RTN4RL1 locus. Antisense RNAs are non-protein-coding transcripts that can interact with their corresponding sense mRNAs or gene regulatory regions to modulate gene expression[3]. Depending on their sequence complementarity and cellular context, antisense lncRNAs can act in cis or trans to regulate transcription, translation, chromatin organization, and potentially participate in disease processes, notably cancer and developmental disorders[3].
