Target intelligence / Profile preview
RUNX3 antisense RNA 1 (RUNX3-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand opposite the RUNX3 gene locus[7]. Like other antisense lncRNAs, RUNX3-AS1 is implicated in the regulation of its sense gene (RUNX3), potentially through epigenetic, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional mechanisms[9]. Dysregulation of RUNX3-AS1 expression has been reported in various cancers, where it may contribute to tumor progression or suppression depending on cellular context. Its function and mechanisms are largely under active research, and it has been proposed both as a potential cancer biomarker and a future candidate for therapeutic intervention, but there are currently no approved targeted drugs[7][9].
