S100 calcium binding protein A7 pseudogene 1 (S100A7P1), also known by aliases including s100a7d, S100A7L3, and S100 calcium binding protein A7-like 3, is annotated as a pseudogene. Unlike the functional S100A7 protein (psoriasin), which is involved in skin health, immune defense, and cancer progression, S100A7P1 does not produce a functional protein and does not act as a receptor, enzyme, or other conventional pharmaceutical target[8].
