S100A11 pseudogene 10 (S100A11P10) is a non-functional segment of DNA closely related to the S100A11 gene, which encodes S100 calcium-binding protein A11. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically lack the capacity to encode functional proteins due to mutations, deletions, or other interruptions in transcription or translation. S100A11P10 is identified in gene databases as a pseudogene; there is no evidence it acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, transcription factor, or therapeutic target. It is not pharmaceutically relevant nor does it participate in signal transduction, cell cycle, apoptosis, or other biological processes[5]. *Note:* Results for the actual S100A11 gene (not pseudogene) show it is a functional calcium-binding protein involved in diverse intracellular processes, some disease states, and signal pathways[1][2][3]. S100A11P10, however, is strictly a pseudogene unrelated to these functions.
