Overview

SALL1 antisense RNA 1 (SALL1-AS1, also known as LOC105371256) is a long non-coding RNA classified as an antisense RNA, transcribed from the SALL1 gene locus, running in the opposite orientation to the SALL1 protein-coding transcript. Antisense lncRNAs often regulate their sense gene partners by recruiting chromatin-modifying complexes, influencing transcriptional activity, and modulating gene expression at the epigenetic level[2]. While many antisense lncRNAs are increasingly recognized for their ability to impact cancer progression and development in various tissues, no disease-specific role or direct associations with SALL1-AS1 have been established in current literature or databases. There are no known drugs targeting SALL1-AS1, and it is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target.
