Target intelligence / Profile preview
SAP30 pseudogene 1 (SAP30P1) is a human pseudogene related to the SAP30 gene, which encodes Sin3A-associated protein 30, a component of the histone deacetylase complex involved in chromatin modification and gene expression regulation. However, SAP30P1 does not encode a functional protein and is not implicated as a direct therapeutic target. Pseudogenes, by definition, are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but non-functional; they do not produce a functional protein product. Functional and disease-relevant roles, known drug interactions, and mechanisms of action are absent for SAP30P1. While the functional SAP30 (Sin3A-associated protein 30) is important in chromatin regulation and implicated in cancer biology, SAP30P1 is not itself a molecular target, biomarker, or part of relevant pathways for therapeutic intervention. There is no evidence for SAP30P1 being used in patient selection, drug efficacy, or as an interacting partner in drug mechanisms. SAP30P1 is a non-coding pseudogene, not a recognized target for therapeutic modulation, and does not have known biological, pathological, or pharmacological functions. Any reference to "SAP30P1" as a therapeutic target is incorrect; the true target is the protein-coding SAP30 gene/protein.
