Target intelligence / Profile preview
Saponins are natural glycosides derived from plants that act as immunological adjuvants to enhance both innate and adaptive immune responses. TQL-1055 is a novel, semi-synthetic saponin-based adjuvant designed for vaccine applications, including tuberculosis (TB) vaccines. They interact with cell membranes and various pattern recognition receptors on antigen-presenting cells (APCs), stimulating these APCs to release inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, leading to recruitment of immune cells and enhanced immune responses.
Saponins act as immunomodulators by interacting with cell membranes and pattern recognition receptors on antigen-presenting cells (APCs). They enhance antigen presentation, stimulate cytokine release, and promote both humoral and cellular immunity.
