Target intelligence / Profile preview
Scavenger receptor class B type 1 (SR-BI) is an integral membrane protein that functions primarily as a receptor for high-density lipoprotein (HDL), playing a central role in cholesterol homeostasis, reverse cholesterol transport, steroidogenesis, and immune response. It is expressed in the liver, steroidogenic tissues, enterocytes, endothelial cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and astrocytes, and its activity influences the risk of cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, and immune dysregulation.
Modulation of HDL cholesterol uptake and reverse cholesterol transport; modulation of immune response
