Schlafen family member 12 (SLFN12) is a cytosolic protein that plays a role in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, immune response modulation, and inhibition of viral replication. It is involved in stimulating the expression of sucrase-isomaltase and modulates sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents. SLFN12 functions as part of an E2/17β‐estradiol-induced pro-apoptotic signaling pathway and is linked with autoimmune diseases and cancer progression.
