Overview

SCY1 like pseudokinase 3 (SCYL3), also known as PACE-1, is a human protein encoded by the SCYL3 gene located on chromosome 1[1][5][7]. It contains a kinase-like domain (putative or pseudokinase, with associated but not intrinsic kinase activity)[2][3]. SCYL3 binds to the C-terminal domain of ezrin, a member of the ERM (ezrin, radixin, moesin) protein family involved in linking membrane proteins to the actin cytoskeleton[2][8]. SCYL3 localizes to both the Golgi apparatus and the cell periphery (lamellipodia), where it colocalizes with ezrin and may help regulate cell adhesion and migration—key processes for cellular motility[1][2][8]. Although implicated in cell movement and possibly in cancer biology, there is currently no evidence that SCYL3 is a direct therapeutic target, biomarker, or target of approved drugs[1][2][7][8].
