SDAD1 antisense RNA 1 (SDAD1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand of the SDAD1 protein-coding gene locus on human chromosome 4q21.1. As an antisense RNA, it is presumed to regulate the expression of its sense gene (SDAD1) through RNA-RNA interaction, potentially affecting SDAD1 mRNA stability or translation, or via epigenetic mechanisms. There is currently no evidence identifying SDAD1-AS1 as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or pharmacological receptor. It is part of the broad class of long non-coding, cis-acting, natural antisense transcripts that participate in gene regulation but do not code for proteins. No drug interactions, direct disease roles, or safety concerns have been reported for SDAD1-AS1.
