Target intelligence / Profile preview
Secreted protein acidic and cysteine rich (SPARC), also known as osteonectin or BM-40, is a matricellular glycoprotein broadly involved in modulating cell interactions with the extracellular matrix during tissue development, repair, and disease[1][2][4]. SPARC binds multiple extracellular components such as collagens and growth factors and influences cell adhesion, proliferation, and tissue remodeling; its expression is prominent in sites of tissue turnover and injury, and it is frequently dysregulated in cancer and fibrotic diseases[1].
