Segment polarity protein dishevelled homolog DVL-2 (DVL2) is a cytoplasmic signaling adaptor protein encoded by the DVL2 gene and a member of the dishevelled protein family[1][2]. DVL2 functions as a crucial mediator in both canonical (β-catenin-dependent) and non-canonical Wnt signaling pathways, acting downstream of Frizzled family receptors to transmit Wnt signals to intracellular effectors and regulate cell fate, polarity, and developmental processes[2][4][5]. DVL2 is implicated in tumorigenesis, particularly in cancers where Wnt signaling is aberrantly activated, and interacts with proteins such as Zinc finger protein 165, DAB2, and Arrestin beta 1[1][2].
