Selenoprotein T pseudogene 1 (SELENOTP1) is a non-coding genetic locus annotated as a pseudogene related to the SELENOT gene, which encodes Selenoprotein T, an essential selenocysteine-containing oxidoreductase found in the endoplasmic reticulum[4][1]. SELENOTP1 does not encode a functional protein, and there is no evidence it plays a role as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or disease mediator[4].
