Target intelligence / Profile preview
Amine oxidase copper-containing 3 (AOC3), also known as vascular adhesion protein-1 (VAP-1), is a membrane-bound glycoprotein enzyme involved in both enzymatic and adhesive cellular functions. It catalyzes the oxidative deamination of primary amines, producing aldehydes, hydrogen peroxide, and ammonia. AOC3 also mediates leukocyte trafficking during inflammation by facilitating leukocyte binding and migration across endothelial cells. It's been implicated in inflammatory, vascular, and metabolic diseases.
