Septin 14 pseudogene 1 (SEPTIN14P1) is a pseudogene, which is a segment of DNA that structurally resembles a gene but is not capable of coding for a protein due to accumulated mutations or loss of regulatory elements[6][5][2]. Pseudogenes like SEPTIN14P1 generally have no protein-coding capacity and are not considered functional genes or therapeutic targets. While some pseudogenes can have regulatory functions—such as acting as decoys for microRNAs—there is no evidence that SEPTIN14P1 has such a role. It is not known to be involved in drug interactions or disease, and is not a biomarker or subject to therapeutic intervention[2][4][3][6].
