SEPTIN7P7 (Septin 7 pseudogene 7) is classified as a pseudogene. It is located on human chromosome 9 and is one of several non-functional genomic sequences with high similarity to the protein-coding gene SEPTIN7. While the protein-coding SEPTIN7 gene encodes a cytoskeletal GTPase important in cell division and neurological development, SEPTIN7P7 itself does not encode a protein and is not known to be expressed at the RNA or protein level in a way that impacts cellular function[3]. There is no evidence that it plays any role in disease, is involved in biological pathways, or is targeted by any drugs. SEPTIN7P7 is primarily of interest in genomics and gene annotation, not in therapeutic or functional biology contexts.
