Serine peptidase inhibitor Kazal type 14 (SPINK14) is a protein-coding gene proposed to function as a serine protease inhibitor belonging to the Kazal-type family. The protein is likely to reside in the extracellular space, where it may regulate proteolytic cascades by inhibiting serine-type endopeptidases. The biological role and disease relevance remain largely uncharacterized, but genetic associations include spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia, Strudwick type.
