SET pseudogene 10 (SETP10)

Target
SETP10
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Processed pseudogene (retrocopy)
01

Overview

SET pseudogene 10 is a retrocopy of the parental SET gene located on human chromosome 3 (chr3:92635549-92638093). As a processed pseudogene, it arises from a reverse transcribed mRNA integrated back into the genome, typically lacking introns and regulatory sequences required for protein-coding capacity[7][2]. SETP10 does not code for a functional protein product. While some pseudogenes can act as regulatory RNAs affecting gene expression, there is no specific evidence that SETP10 has such a function. It is not a valid therapeutic target and does not have known disease associations or drug interactions. In summary, SETP10 is a processed pseudogene with no established molecular function or disease relevance, and should not be considered a canonical molecular target.

02

Biological functions

No established protein functionMay have potential regulatory function at the RNA level, as some pseudogenes are known to act as competitive endogenous RNAs, antisense RNAs, or small interfering RNAs, though there is no published evidence for these functions specific to SETP10
03

Disease associations

None reported for SETP10. Some pseudogenes are implicated in cancer or other diseases via gene regulation, but there is no evidence for disease association for SETP10
