SH3TC2 divergent transcript (SH3TC2-DT) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located near the SH3TC2 gene. It has no known protein-coding function and is classified under lncRNAs[3]. SH3TC2-DT, together with SH3TC2, is highly expressed in FLT3-mutant AML and associated with markers of stemness, cell quiescence, and poor clinical outcome. Expression of this lncRNA may provide prognostic information in acute myeloid leukemia, especially in cases carrying FLT3 mutations, where high SH3TC2-DT/SH3TC2 expression correlates with higher risk features (high WBC count, intermediate cytogenetic/molecular risk, poor survival)[1][3]. There is no established role for SH3TC2-DT as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, nor are there drugs or approved interventions targeting this transcript.
