SHC adaptor protein 3 (SHC3) is a neuronal signaling adaptor protein that couples activated growth factor receptors such as neurotrophin-activated Trk receptors to intracellular signaling cascades in neurons. It plays a role in signal transduction pathways involving receptor tyrosine kinases, particularly affecting neurodevelopmental and neuroplasticity processes. SHC3 is implicated in neuronal signal transduction and memory, participates in pathways such as MAPK signaling, and has been associated with roles in cancers including mediation of drug resistance in breast cancer through interaction with ErbB2[1][2][5][7].
