Shenque acupoint (CV8 (also Ren-8))

The Shenque acupoint (CV8) is a major acupuncture point located in the center of the umbilicus (navel). Traditionally, it is considered a vital point for harmonizing qi and blood and supporting yang energy in the body. It plays a central role in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), being linked to multiple meridians and internal organs. Modern research shows it is richly vascularized and innervated, with a substantial presence of adipose tissue-resident somatic stem cells, suggesting possible biological underpinnings for its therapeutic applications.
