Overview

**Signal regulatory protein delta (SIRPD)** is a cell-surface receptor belonging to the signal regulatory protein (SIRP) family and is encoded by the SIRPD gene on chromosome 20p13[3][1]. It is structurally related to other SIRP family members involved in cellular signaling, particularly in the modulation of immune cell interactions, although the precise physiological and pathological roles of SIRPD remain less well characterized than other SIRP family members (such as SIRPA)[5]. SIRPD is a protein-tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type substrate that likely participates in cell–cell signaling at the plasma membrane; however, experimental evidence regarding its specific biological functions is limited[5][11]. The gene is expressed in several tissues, with paralogs including SIRPA and SIRPG[5][9]. Diseases associated with SIRPD include renal cysts and diabetes syndrome[5]. There is currently limited or no information on specific drugs interacting with SIRPD, mechanisms of action, biomarker status, or safety concerns as a therapeutic target.
