Target intelligence / Profile preview
Signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 (STAT5) is a transcription factor mediating cellular responses to cytokines and growth factors. It includes two highly homologous proteins, STAT5A and STAT5B. Activated through the JAK/STAT pathway, it regulates genes involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and inflammation. Aberrant regulation is associated with immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, and cancer, making it a therapeutic target.
Inhibition of upstream kinases in the JAK/STAT pathway; Direct inhibition of STAT5 function.
