Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule F7 (SLAMF7)

Target
SLAMF7
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Receptor, Signaling Lymphocytic Activation Molecule (SLAM) family

Overview

SLAMF7 (Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule F7), also known as CD319, CS1, or CRACC, is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the SLAM family of receptors. It is primarily expressed on immune cells such as NK cells, T cells, B cells, and plasma cells, and functions as a self-ligand receptor mediating homophilic interactions. SLAMF7 plays a crucial role in immune modulation, promoting NK cell cytotoxicity, regulating B cell activity and adaptive immunity, and influencing macrophage activation during inflammation. It is a diagnostic and therapeutic target for plasma cell malignancies, particularly multiple myeloma, due to its robust expression on malignant plasma cells.
