Signaling lymphocyte activation molecule family member 5 (SLAMF5), also known as CD84, is a cell surface receptor belonging to the SLAM (CD150) subfamily of the CD2 family within the immunoglobulin superfamily. It plays a significant role in regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses through its function as an adhesion and signaling molecule. It is broadly expressed across most hematopoietic cells and modulates activation, differentiation, proliferation, and cytotoxicity of various leukocyte subsets. Altered expression or genetic variants are linked to autoimmune diseases and cancer.
