Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule Family Member 7 (SLAMF7) is a type I transmembrane protein highly expressed on NK cells and plasma cells, as well as subsets of T cells, B cells, monocytes/macrophages, and dendritic cells. It functions as a self-ligand receptor mediating cell-cell interactions within the immune system. SLAMF7 promotes NK cell cytotoxicity and modulates inflammatory responses. It is a therapeutic target in multiple myeloma and other CD319-positive malignancies and is targeted by monoclonal antibodies and CAR-T therapies. Upregulation of expression occurs via TLR/NF-kB signaling. It is also implicated in negative regulation of survival/proliferation for innate-like CD8+ and NKT cells.
