Target intelligence / Profile preview
Simethicone is a silicon-based surfactant and anti-flatulence agent used to relieve symptoms of gas, such as pressure, bloating, and discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract. It works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gut, causing them to combine into larger bubbles that can be more easily eliminated through belching or flatulence. Simethicone is not systemically absorbed and has a favorable safety profile.
Reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the GI tract, causing them to coalesce into larger bubbles that are more easily expelled.
