Sin3A associated protein 25 (SAP25) is a protein subunit of the Sin3A/HDAC transcriptional corepressor complex, involved predominantly in the negative regulation of gene expression through chromatin remodeling and histone deacetylation[1][2][6]. SAP25 acts as an adaptor protein, interacting with multiple protein complexes such as deubiquitinases (USP11), E3 ubiquitin ligases (SCF(FBXO3)), O-linked N-acetylglucosamine transferase (OGT), and TET methylcytosine dioxygenases, in addition to core Sin3/HDAC complex members[2]. These interactions enable SAP25 and the Sin3/HDAC complex to precisely control gene expression, particularly in the context of the immune response and potentially in neurodevelopmental processes[1][2]. There is currently no direct evidence that SAP25 is a drug target, nor are drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns associated directly with SAP25 established in the literature[1][2][6].
