Single stranded DNA binding protein 4 pseudogene (ENSG00000267533) represents a nonfunctional DNA sequence homologous to the single stranded DNA binding protein 4 (SSBP4) but does not produce a protein product. Pseudogenes like this one are remnants of genomic duplication or retrotransposition events and have accumulated mutations (such as premature stop codons or frameshifts) that prevent normal transcription or translation[2][5][3].
