Overview

SINHCAF pseudogene 1 (SINHCAFP1, also known as HsT2323) is a pseudogene related to the functional gene SINHCAF (FAM60A), which encodes a protein component of the SIN3A–histone deacetylase (HDAC) complex[1]. Pseudogenes are typically non-functional copies or fragments of genes and do not encode active proteins. There is no evidence in the scientific literature that SINHCAFP1 itself encodes a functional molecule, serves a biological function, or is relevant as a therapeutic target. The parent gene, SINHCAF, is involved in epigenetic regulation and development, but the pseudogene does not participate in these activities. There are no known associated diseases, drug interactions, or biomarker roles for the pseudogene. As such, it is not considered a valid therapeutic target.
