Skeletal Muscle Regeneration

01

Overview

Skeletal muscle regeneration refers to the process by which damaged or injured skeletal muscle tissue repairs itself, restoring both structure and function. This regenerative capacity is primarily due to satellite cells, which activate, proliferate, differentiate into myoblasts, and fuse to form new myofibers or repair existing ones. The process occurs in overlapping stages: degeneration, inflammation, activation, regeneration, remodeling and maturation.
