SLC25A29 antisense RNA 1 (SLC25A29-AS1) is presumed to be a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the region antisense to the SLC25A29 gene, a member of the solute carrier family involved in mitochondrial transport of basic amino acids such as arginine and lysine. There is currently no published data describing SLC25A29-AS1’s biological function, disease role, molecular mechanism, or status as a therapeutic target. Information on antisense RNAs in general suggests they may regulate the expression of their sense counterparts but there is no specific evidence for SLC25A29-AS1. The primary literature on "SLC25A29" does not mention its antisense RNA as functionally significant in any disease or therapeutic context.
