Target intelligence / Profile preview
SLC25A39P2, or SLC25A39 pseudogene 2, is a genomic sequence similar to the protein-coding SLC25A39 gene, which encodes a mitochondrial glutathione transporter—an integral protein in mitochondrial iron and glutathione homeostasis. However, SLC25A39P2 is a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein, nor does it participate in biological processes or serve as a therapeutic target. Pseudogenes like SLC25A39P2 may persist in the genome as remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events but generally lack transcription or translation into an active protein and thus have no established role in cellular function, disease, or therapeutic intervention.
