Target intelligence / Profile preview
SLC28A3 regulatory antisense RNA 1 (SLC28A3-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene that overlaps with the SLC28A3 coding region and regulates its expression[1][2][4]. SLC28A3-AS1 is not a protein, receptor, transporter, or enzyme, but a non-coding transcript involved in gene regulation. It has been implicated in mediating cardioprotective effects against anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity, especially through the SNP rs11140490 which modulates its expression and subsequently reduces doxorubicin uptake in cardiomyocytes by repressing SLC28A3 transporter activity[2]. This lncRNA therefore represents a regulatory element relevant to pharmacogenomics and susceptibility to drug-induced heart toxicity, though it is not itself a direct pharmacological target[2][4].
